NGO: "We try to wipe every tear"
Since 2015 the Quezon City based NGO Wipe Every Tear is working hard to achieve one final goal: help bargirls and freelance sex workers to get away from their work and achieve their real dreams. Rebecca Angeles, the Filipino director of Wipe Every Tear, breaks in down to one aspect: "We try to give every woman a choice." In order to really have a choice in the Philippines what the women need most is education. Even secondary education is hardly enough to get a simple job, says Rebecca. The reason for that: the dense Filipino population. Right now, Wipe Every Tear, takes care of 80 women, who formally worked in a bar, and offers them free education, a clean house, meals, books and daily allowance. And most importantly: they can bring their children.
